Essex County Fire Badge

Essex County Fire Badge

thingiverse

I made this as a gift for my father's birthday- its a recreation of the Essex County precinct fire & rescue logo where he used to work. This is a 150mm (roughly 6" diameter) 3D plaque derived from the original logo design, including raised text banners and a curved shield and swords. Parts are split for ease of printing, painting, and assembly. The backside of the base also has holes cut in each of the 4 cardinal arms of the star, designed for 5mm diameter x 2mm depth circular neodymium magnets, in case you want to mount this plaque like a fridge magnet. These can be inserted easily just using Super Glue. I painted using a basic brushed on carmine acrylic first as the red was visible in the lowest areas, and then on top of that layered Rub n' Buff Silver Leaf and Antique Gold for the highlights and edges. The final effect is a very nice satin/matte metallic finish.
