Etched Settlers

Etched Settlers

thingiverse

An acrylic, reverse painted set of Settlers of Catan tiles. The raster images have been replaced with public domain or CC licensed artwork that works well with the intaglio ink instead of being burned into wood like the original design. Instructions With a 30cm x 30cm sheet of acrylic, etch at 100% power, 30% speed and cut 100% power, 6% speed. Apply intaglio ink to the back side. Clean the non-etched portions and run through the lithopress to soak up some of the excess ink, then allow to dry. There should be a second layer of hexagons cut from solid white acrylic to provide a background for the etchings. There needs to be a white background to make them visible. I'll upload a second file once I have one designed. Inks used were Speedball Black, Cyan, some random red, gold and a mix of the gold+cyan to make the green.
