Ethernet Cable Wire Comb for RJ45 Connector

UPDATE: This version Q is a remix with the comb integral to the base. The original version had the comb piece horizontal with a dovetail connection to the base. Thanks to everyone who offered comments on the original design. I think this one is simpler and better. This comb makes it easy to arrange the wires in an Ethernet cable to fit into an RJ45 connector. The comb holds all eight wires in place while you check the correct order. The wire spacing is slightly wider than inside the RJ45 connector, but the wires close-up as you insert them into the connector. Lay the individual wires in the comb slots, and hold them in place with a thumb. Straighten them, cut them to length, then hold them together and remove them from the comb. Make final adjustments and insert the wires into the RJ45 connector. Nothing special about the slicer parameters. I used generic PLA temperatures, and moderate printing speed. I printed on a Creality Ender-3 S1 Pro with the standard 0.4mm nozzle. The comb teeth ends might end up with small "blobs." See the third photo. Use sandpaper or a thin modeler's file to remove them. Or lay the comb on its side and use a hobby knife (e.g. X-Acto) to carefully cut off the blobs.
