Eucalyptus Agony Tree

Eucalyptus Agony Tree

I created this Eucalyptus tree for surreal horror game, EDEN. The game takes place in a manor isolated within Australian bushland, following the throes of World War II. The manor has been isolated for many years after its construction in the 1870’s, and use as an orphanage during the years following. Slowly, the surrounding environment reclaims the structure, signified through decaying rooms and natural life growing within its walls. The Eucalyptus tree remains perched above a door frame, with its roots formed around the room. The tree grasps at the light flowing through from the skylight above in agony. It was designed to mimic the human form and demonstrate that the only way to truly be free now is to become one with the manor. Our game was featured at PAX Aus. The response was incredible and we’re proud to have worked on such a unique title.
