One of the most beautiful and little remembered Italian design pieces is the beautiful radio lamp of the Europhon company, designed by Adriano Rampoldi in about 1970. It is very difficult to find information regarding this beautiful example of Space Age design: the Europhon company was born in Milan in the immediate post-war period, offering various functional, inexpensive and captivating design radio models on the market. It became famous for the production of the first hybrid products (the radio-clock, the radio-television and the radio-lamp, all designed by Adriano Rampoldi) which experienced its decline shortly afterwards, due to too bold company choices. However, time always does justice and Europhon products are reported in books like “L'Utopie du tout plastique” like those decorated with famous designers and better known companies. The original radio lamp has three buttons: two for adjusting the light intensity (soft light and full light) and one for turning on the transistor radio. The base is in ABS while the diffuser is in polymethacrylic. Stuck in this period of coronavirus, the memory of this object came to mind, unfortunately abandoned in a previous home. Its "pill" conformation was most appropriate at the time, as a cure for "turning up" morale. So I decided to recreate it using the ARDITI ASIN: B07SNFQBMY wiring, among the cheapest online. Unfortunately for speed I eliminated the radio part, proposing the design of the luminous sector only. Composed of 4 pieces, in order to print it without supports, it optionally requires at least 2 screws to lock the lighting body. I have also created a more taller version, in case you have problems with the bulbs because of the height. Thanks everyone
