Evil Dragon Head Trophy

Evil Dragon Head Trophy

After printing the awesome dragon head trophy and mounting it on my bot, I realized that there was just one thing missing: LEDs. A small amount of drilling and some soldering later, and the dragon head was alive and well. Then it turned it's head to stare at me with its cold, unblinking eyes, and started making a low growling noise. Uh oh, that can't be a good sign... Instructions You will need: Dragon head trophy print 2x small (3mm) LED 2x 100 ohm (or so) some thin wires (I pulled some from a discarded USB cable) Drill with bits Soldering iron Drill a big hole through the back of the dragons head up to it's snout, roughly where it's throat would be if it were a real dragon. Drill two smaller holes through the eye sockets, so that they end in the big throat hole. Fish two small wires through each eye socket and out the back, attach LEDs to the front, then pull the LEDs into the dragon's head so that they look like eyes. On the other end of the wires, solder a resistor in series with each led, and hook each up to a 5v line (I used a servo connector on my extruder board). Alternatively, you could add some alternative plumbing to the model so that no drilling is necessary :-).
