A valve designed to cut-off the expiration line of a ventilator tube when the inspiration line pressure in high.An expiration cut-off valve designed to be disposable. Valve to be located as close to endotracheal tube as possible. Adapter cups designed for 1 in ID tubing. Use Case: 1. Spring relaxed, Expiration orifice open, Patient breathing out 2. Ventilator senses expiration flow drops or expiration timeout reached if in mandatory mode 3. Pressure in inspiration line rises and exceeds 4 cmWC 4. Piston compresses spring, Expiration orifice closed, Patient breathing in 5. Lung and inspiration line pressure equalized, Ventilator cuts airflow to patient 6. Remaining pressure in inspiration line relieved through pressure pull-down holes 7. Piston returns to resting position, Inspiration line closed
