A little coffee machine accessory collection with a nice tray to hold it all together.

UPDATE: I have printed all of these by now, and am glad to report that everything fits together nicely. The funnel has a tight fit in the tray fresh from printing, but after I sanded and polished it, it slides right in.

The tamper has some issues with overhang, I fixed this with the "extra contours if necessary" setting in Slic3r.

I also created a holder for my Tranquilo coffee grinder, which after two design iterations also fits well. See here for more information

Print instructions

Category: Kitchen & Dining Print Settings

Printer: Prusa I3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports: No

Resolution: 0.15 mm

Infill: 20%

Filament: Prusa PLA Galaxy Black
Notes:

Concentric or Archmidean spiral fill pattern looks best for top and base layers.

"Extra contours if necessary" setting in Slic3r helped to fix some overhang problems on the tamper.

Post-Printing

I sanded these parts dry with 240 grit, then wet sanded with 600 grit, then 1200 grit. That almost provides a polished finish. Polishing is of course another option.

The parts are cleanable with water but not watertight (water will seep into the interior). A clear coat of paint would probably be advisable, this is also more food safe. Coffee contains oils, some contents of the PLA or PETG may be soluble. At least the tamper and the funnel should be painted.

How I Designed This

Design work done in Solidworks 2017. Component from espresso machine was 3D scanned to have an accurate base to work from. The Expobar Brewtus is a bit different from normal E61 machines because the handle isn't parallel to the machine, but tilted downwards at 8.5°. This made it difficult to get any decent measurements by hand.

Will provide parametric files on request if anyone wants to remix.
