Human beings are capable of incredible things, but they're also incredibly fragile. They're vulnerable to illness, injury, and even death. Despite these vulnerabilities, humans have managed to achieve great feats, from walking on the moon to curing diseases that were once thought incurable. However, their existence is also marked by a deep-seated fear of mortality, which can sometimes drive them to seek comfort in the unknown.
