INTRODUCTION - I worked the original model (2184790) for a while before I abandoned in and selected Thingiverse:2456038 instead. But the work here is a copy of the work I did with the other, so rather than discard this source I've passed it on to others, and hopefully others may find it useful. HOW TO USE THIS MODEL - 1. Using the "Download All Files" button, download the zip archive from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2184790. 2. Unpack the zip file into a directory, keeping the directory structure. 3. Deposit this source file into the top level directory, so that the *.STL files are in a subdirectory called "files". 4. Load this file into OpenSCAD. The Model should display automatically. 5. The DrawTestModel(...) module will show the complete model. To show just the bolt, set the dn parameter to < 0. e.g. DrawTestModel(-1,ext=2); DIRECTORY STRUCTURE - Place this Model.scad file so the directory structure looks like this- |-- attribution_card.html |-- files | |-- inner-part-6mm_basehole.stl | |-- slimmed_spoolholder_nut.stl | |-- spoolmain.stl | `-- spoolmainV2.stl |-- images | |-- .......jpg |-- LICENSE.txt |-- Model.scad <-- In the top level directory. |-- README.txt `-- SOURCES.txt NOTES - A. The bearing hole in the base of the original model is not completely centred, but I have centred bearing shim in each end which appears to correct for it. B. The extension is cut from the bolt and added in steps for each "ext" parameter increment. There is an overlapping area along the threaded length which does look pretty ugly in the OpenSCAD previews. Now, I haven't printed the model because I chose another instead (Thingiverse:2456038), but Slic3r may make some correction. Please check the output of your slicer and perhaps test print a portion of the model.
