Extension Ladder Spring Clip

Extension Ladder Spring Clip

thingiverse

Replacement spring clip for a Werner extension ladder. This clip is what helps the extension ladder retract after extending, it spans the gap in the support arm so that the arm rides over the rungs. This part bears no weight and is only used when changing the ladder length while standing on the ground. You will need to reuse the spring from the ladder. It is secured using a #10-32 (M5) screw that is about 1" (25mm) long and a nut. I used a button head, but a pan head or cap head would be fine too, and a K-L locking nut, but any nut would be fine. I also recommend adding some medium strength thread locking compound, like blue loctite, to make sure it doesn't come loose over time. To remove the original clip from your ladder you will likely need to drill out the rivet that holds it on, at least that is what I had to do to mine. Just be careful not to damage or loose the spring. Added the .step file for remixing or adjusting for different brand ladders. Happy 3D printing!
