Extinct Vero Tapir (Tapirus veroensis) Skull

thingiverse

Photogrammetric model of a specimen comprising the ventral maxilla and palette of an extinct vero tapir (likely Tapirus veroensis), collected on a dive in late Pleistocene Rancholabrean-age strata from a yet-to-be-named sinkhole locality, Polk County, FL. I prepare and maintain the original specimen by contract. This model was produced using a series of 32 photographs imported to Agisoft Photoscan Pro. The resulting dense cloud consisted of 269,275 vertices which generated a mesh that was subsequently imported to Autodesk Meshmixer for smoothing, simplification, extrusion, and repair. As I refine my close-range technique I'll update the model as allowed. Happpppyyyyyy printinggggggg peace and love
