Extruder e-step Calibration Fixture

Extruder e-step Calibration Fixture

This is a simple to make device that makes calibrating your extruder's E-steps a snap. It can be used on direct drive extruders, extruders with a Bowden tube and even remote direct drive extruders, You just need to have access to the top of the extruder where the filament feeds in. The results are very reproducible. The heart of the tool is an inexpensive digital caliper. I prefer the lightweight plastic/CF calipers. You can get them at Amazon in the US: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LW1V1B1/ref=dp_sp_detail?psc=1 These calipers measure to the nearest 0.1mm - which is fine for this application. You can use the common steel calipers but they are a little more unwieldy to use. Print the Caliper Mount.stl and the appropriate FIlament Guide (1-75 or 2-85) for your printer. I've also included STEP files if anyone wants to modify the tool. The g-code script for 1.75mm extruders is included in the files. I don't have a 2.85mm printer (surprisingly) so if someone wants to test let me know what happens. The 1.75mm script might extrude too fast for a 2.85mm extruder.
