I've struggled to get the gun components from jwolee's Dalek design to print correctly, so I made some adjustments. Now they're 2-part and designed to lie flat on the print bed for optimal printing. To attach them, I usually apply glue to the connector part before snapping it into place - this way, if you pack the model in a box or transport it, the components are less likely to get damaged. The non-plunger arm can be easily snapped off the support disc or carefully cut free with an exacto knife if needed.
