The Renault R25 was a Formula 1 single-seater used by the Renault team in the 2005 season. It was designed by Tim Densham and Bob Bell. The car won both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships in 2005, despite being slower than the McLaren MP4-20 at numerous points during the season. Reliability and consistency prevailed in the end, with Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella. The R25 is the last single-seater powered by a V10 engine to have victories and the Formula 1 championship, marking the end of an era. In the 19 races he contested, he scored 191 points, 8 wins, 15 podiums and was totally out of the points only once in 18 openings (not counting the United States GP, where the two Renault drivers, in common with all drivers using Michelin tires, retired before starting).
