This is a laser cut wood coaster with the Fab Lab network logo cut out and inlaid with different direction of grain. Made with 1/4inch birch ply stained brown. The inlaid section is cut fractions of a millimeter larger than the hole to make up for the kerf of the laser; this was calibrated for my material and 40W CO2 laser and may need adjustment for other materials. Note that this file is the standard Fab Lab logo and not one with geometrically perfect rotational symmetry! I think it's a bit of extra personality. Optional: I lined the bottom with fabric for friction on a table!
