E3D Holder with Filament Cooler for Falla3d Open Source Printer I needed to attach the E3D to my Falla3d printer, but at the same time I wanted to cool the filament. The difficulty was staying within precise space limits at the front and the sides of the extruder to avoid hitting the sides of the 20x20x20 print area. I solved it by placing the fans above the extruder (where I have all the space I want) and conveying the air around the sides of the extruder. To facilitate printing I broke the model into: A TOP part that contains: a 40mm fan mount that conveys air to two ducts on each side of the bowden tube leading to the top of the E3D extruder two 30mm fans, on each side, that convey air to two ducts to the filament the four ducts slide directly into the bottom part, where they can be fixed with two screws. A BOTTOM part that contains: Designed to mount directly to the Falla3D extruder holder The internal ducts go to the sides of the radiator of the E3D_V6 extruder. The external ducts go to the tip for the filament. You might need to adjust the length of these with cutters, depending on how your E3D is assembled. A BRIDGE Part that mounts to flange to lock and hold the E3D_V6 extruder with two screws. A FIREWALL part that shields the back and bottom hot parts of the extruder, and specifically avoids the airflow for E3D radiator leaking towards the head. The firewall is mounted with two screws to the inside of the bottom part, behind the extruder. This is the only part - very simple - were ABS is necessary. All the rest can be printed with PLA and without support on most printers. Rotation should be: 135 degrees for the top part - so that the fan holders are flush against the printer bed 180 degrees for the bottom part - so that the ducts go up No rotation is needed for the bridge. 90 degrees for the Firewall, so that the back rests on the printer bed.
