Fallen Caryatid with Stone, Large Model Auguste Rodin Bronze. 1911-1918 Fallen Caryatid is a bronze by Auguste Rodin. Originally a small character for his Gates of Hell, Rodin enlarged the model and presented it at the Fall Salon of 1909, under the title Destiny. The title of the peice refers to the ancient Greek architectural decoration of a column in the form of a draped female figure, who supports the entablature of a building, most famously seen at the porch of the Erechtheion on the Athens Acropolis (see below):
