Fallout 4 Fusion Core Container

thingiverse

Well, here's yet another fusion core on thingiverse. It is based off of the great set of files uploaded by samsve ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2053627 ), but I added a couple features to make it slightly nicer to put together, and an optional feature (one from theplante's Fallout Fusion Cell -REFINED https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5147624 . All of the pieces now slip together, making it a bit nicer to assemble and glue. For those of you who (like myself) would like to use it as a container, I also have versions of the top pieces that thread together (it's a reverse thread, btw). PRINTING If you want to make the core so the top threads on/off, use the Top 1 (Threaded) and Top 2 (Threaded) instead of the other Top files. If you want the top to either be glued together or just want a slip fit instead of threads, use the Top 1 (Slip-Fit) and Top 2 (Slip-Fit) files (Top 1 (Slip-Fit Tweak 1.0) for a removable top). Nothing too crazy there. I'm printed scaled to 72.5% to fit the base I printed up at 75% scale ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5241882 ). It came out slightly looser than I'd like, the next time I print one, it'll probably be 73.5%, maybe 74%. The threads may seem snug or slightly crunchy at first depending on your printer settings, but screwing the top on/off a few times smooths it. ASSEMBLY I filed the inner sleeve of the Bottom 2 piece just a bit so the the entire surface had the same finish (just to make sure I got all of it), and lightly roughed the inside lip of Bottom 1 for glue adhesion, then stuck the two together with some Gorilla Epoxy I had lying around. If you are using the TWEAK 1.0 pieces, hopefully all you should need is a slight roughing with sandpaper. It may or may not glue fine smooth, I typically rough up any plastic before using adhesives if can. Threads should need no touch-up to function, provided decent printer settings are used. UPDATE: 14FEB2022 Bottom 1 and Bottom 2 require sanding to fit together and I imagine the same is true for the Top 1 (Slip-Fit) and Top 2 (Slip Fit), which at least is good for glue adhesion. However, I have added versions with slightly opened clearances denoted by the "Tweak 1.0" suffix. TWEAK LOG TWEAK 1.0: Opened clearances slightly on Slip-Fit pieces, now hopefully it is a slip-fit instead of an interference fit. As always, if there are issues, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Enjoy!
