Fallout Board Game 3 Sided Die

I've played four sessions of Fallout the Board Game (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/232918/fallout). Each time the session runs longer than 4 hours but never gets to the end of the story, and the Board Game's main point is intended to have gameplay spell out a Choose Your Own Adventure type story. We've adopted several House Rules to make the game shorter and/or get through a story (https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1913836/first-draft-house-rules-fix-broken-game), but the game still runs long without a completed story. So we've decided to add an additional house rule: for every dice roll which would *advance the plot* (but not for simple monster attacks or side quests), add an additional die to the roll which can deliver a number from 1 to 3. This design fulfills that function, with a six sided die that has only three numbers on it: two 1s, two 2s, and two 3s. Two of our regular players are bad at quick math, so the old solution of a regular six sided die and dividing by 2 and then rounding up wasn't helping as much as this design will.
