I wanted to use less plastic for the fan box and a better air flow as well. So I redesign a 120mm modular setup for the fan and filter. Also I have no idea how the screwing was suppose to be done on the original design so I included access hole from the inside of the adaptor. You can stack those as required, as a push or push-pull for more air flow. The filter reside in a drawer that can easily be pulled out to change it. On the picture you also see a stator that I use to increase static pressure from fan. I added a strip of LED in the hood as we never have enough light when working. This help quite a lot. Further improvement would be to design cable holder directly and probably a switch on the fume hood to turn the extractor on and off remotly. But that's far on the todo list.
