Fan Holder for Qidi/Creator Pro with Flexion Dual Extruder

A fan holder for both extruder fans of the Qidi/Creator Pro with Flexion dual extruder, which allows the fans to be mounted separately from the block and motors for easier assembly, disassembly, and maintenance. It was always a pain to have to thread those long screws through the fans, spacers, heat sink, block, and into the motors when reassembling. Seating them into the motor holes through all that by feel is very difficult. It also meant everything had to be taken apart just to get at one part for maintenance. After I got the Flexion extruders, which eliminated the stock heat sinks but still required the spacers, I saw an opportunity to make my life even easier by decoupling the mounting of the motors and the fans. The fans sit tightly in a tray which is velcroed to the carriage. They can easily be taken out separately or together with the tray to get access to the extruders and motors. You'll need: - (4) 27-20mm M3 screws to replace the stock longer screws. Run these directly through the aluminum block into the motor threads. Actually, 20mm is just a bit to long, but if like me that's all you can get your hands on, just use a washer on each one. - Velcro approximately 87mm x 21.5mm. I used 3M Command velcro strips. Mount this so that the front of the tray is flush with the front of the plastic carriage, and both sides are also flush. The flat piece extending from the tray along its length should be facing front. (This provides surface area for the velcro, as the fans hang off the edge a little in the back to maintain their original position.) This is designed for the fans to fit tightly, so if the inside comes out rough and they don't fit, you may need to do some smoothing. One caveat - I'm assuming the configuration of the Creator Pro is the same as the Qidi, but I only have the Qidi. If there are minor differences, you may have to improvise. I suppose this tray could also be used with the original extruders and heat sinks, by threading the screws through the heat sinks and block, into the motors. In this case 20mm screws should be just right without washers. I haven't tried this, but it seems like it should work.
