Fan/Light Pull String Caps
thingiverse
Someone shared on a popular website a unique pull-string cap that doubles as both a fan and a light source, depending on how you pull it. I thought creating something similar would be a straightforward task, so I started researching ways to combine existing parts to achieve the same effect. After some experimentation, I found suitable components and 3D printed them using brass filament. The result is quite impressive, with a nice aesthetic finish. To avoid any printing issues, I only used supports from the plate, which helped prevent the light bulb part from getting stuck during the printing process. Update - Following several pulls on my creation, I found that the original Voronoi bulb design was not as sturdy as I had hoped. So, I decided to reinforce it by filling it up while preserving its texture. This modification should make it more stable and durable over time.
