Fast-Print Modular Storage Drawers – Trapezoid Edition (Vase Mode)

cults3d

Specifically designed to print in ‘vase mode’ to allow for very fast printing and low filament usage, this unique modular storage solution is quick, easy, and economical to print. I think they look great too, but hey, maybe I’m a little biased? An ideal addition to grace the desk or workbench of any engineer, maker or hobbyist, the frames and drawers have been designed for maximised strength and scalability, making them suitable for many different storage applications. Highlights: Five different frame/drawer depth options - from 60mm to 150mm. Very fast to print. At the default size, the smallest drawers can be printed in under 30 minutes, and a set of one frame and three drawers (small, medium and large) in around only 3 hours. Economical due to low filament usage. Designed to maximise strength and for easy scalability (tested up to 150% scale). Optional drawer stops. Optional stabilising feet (for the three smallest depths). Optional label holders in drawer fronts. Over 80 individual STL files for maximum design flexibility. Parts / Assembly: Each frame holds 3 drawers: Small, Medium, and Large. The frames and drawers are available in 5 depths: 60mm, 90mm, 120mm, 150mm and 180mm. Individual frames can be joined together using joiner strips, and there are 30mm or 60mm versions of these. Multiple joiner strips can be used together to join deeper frames (for example two 120mm frames could be joined together with 2 x 60mm joiners for maximum strength, although one will often suffice). Frames of different depths can still be joined together. When printing a frame without integrated drawer-stops, the frame can be used in either orientation (with the narrow side either at the top or the bottom). When printing a frame with drawer stops, there is a specific model for each orientation which must be used, and this is noted in the STL filename as either ‘NarrowTop’ or ‘WideTop’ Make sure to also pay attention to the shape of the drawers when printing, as the required shape will vary depending on the frame orientation. The STLs for the drawers are also named either ‘NarrowTop’ or ‘WideTop’. PLEASE NOTE: These files are provided for PERSONAL USE ONLY. It is prohibited to share or redistribute these files or any derivatives, or to use them for commercial purposes, including selling the printed models. Copyright © If anyone would like to post a photo/make of their prints, I would love to see them. I am planning to add further options to this modular system in the future.
