Fatshark HDO2 Prescription Lens Holder

Fatshark HDO2 Prescription Lens Holder

This is a prescription lens mount for the Fatshark HDO2. If the focus power adjustment in the goggles is not enough to help you see a clear image, you are like me and need special prescription lenses to see clearly. Such as those with astigmatism. In previous fatshark goggles, this was not a problem since the goggles had inserts for standard diopters which could be co-opted for use with a custom prescription lens made in the same shape. RHO-Lens is one such company that can make these to order. This mount is designed to be installed into the HDO2 with thin double sided tape and then the lenses, shaped like standard fatshark diopters can slide firmly into place. Since the user will have a custom prescription lens in place, the HDO2 focus adjustment will necessarily be placed in a 20/20 position which means for most if not all users, the lens position will be in a nearly identical place (in and out of the goggle). Also RHO type lens orders already have IPD correct and in place for fatshark goggles. The end result should be that almost all users can use this same 3D print and have it work perfectly for them. You will need to use a thicker face foam, such as what is sold by newbeedronefoam in order to create enough distance between your eyes and the lenses. Many HDO2 users already have this foam since stock created eyelash interference anyway. If you are having any trouble please comment here and I can make any requested adjustments to the holder to suit. However, I think these mounts should work for almost everyone. Now you can finally see clearly using HDO2s when power is not enough to put things in focus!
