NOTE: This is not a weapon and cannot be used as a weapon. This is an accessory for a rifle but does not make the rifle any more or less dangerous. It changes the ergonomics and prevents a pistol style grasp as per CA and NY state law. This is legal anywhere the rifle is legal, and will not help criminals illegally obtain the rifle. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding use or legality of this print. Thank you! -sharxbyte This will fit any standard AR receiver and hold the selector detent and spring in place. It uses a standard .25 dia screw. It was based on a similar design by the owner of riflegrip.com, however he didn't want to go into mass production, and so I modeled this grip for me and others to use. EDIT: the initial grip may have protruded too much for CA, and the cap also doesn't prevent a pistol style grip as per CA law. (Both should be fine in NY), and so I have edited it by reducing the front "hook" protrusion. It may not have been an issue, but I wanted to give people as many options as possible. If you are in CA I can only recommend the reduced hook version. for more information, look at this post and the thread linked therein. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showpost.php?p=18397024&postcount=32 Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .2mm Infill: I printed my proof of concept at 25% and it's sturdy. more could be better. Notes: The images show the grip as I printed it. Before uploading, for comfort, I filleted the upper edge so it isn't as sharp. I'm using the simple makers edition 4" bed (not in the drop down), and with the raft piece I designed you don't need supports. Post-Printing If you're using this with a pinned collapsible stock, I HIGHLY recommend using a 1.5 or 2" wood screw from the back to hold the two pieces together. Obviously, if you use the single piece or the minimalist cap this is unnecessary, but to print this on a 4" bed, I needed to break it into two pieces. with an A2, it might add stability, but it's less required. I will painting it black (I only had white available) and softening the upper edges with sand paper, but this should be unnecessary with the uploaded version because of the small fillet I added. How I Designed This I used Autocad and based my design off of the pictures at riflegrip.com, and the physical grip my brother ordered to get general ergonomics. You could plasti-dip and/or stipple for different grip/texture.
