This is a bronze sculpture by Luut de Gelder.  Her representations are of parts of the human body, particularly the female body. Each of them show the same fragment. In the artist's eyes, the part of the female body she has chosen is the most essential, the place of origin. The sculpture is the result of the voltage between the uninhibited freedom, the expression of her feelings, and the nature of the material. She creates as a result an abstract piece. The work is bronze, which contrasts to the completely smooth polished marble that classical busts would have. The back has a machined surface. De Gelder wants to express the contrast between external beauty and inner fragmentation of a man.
