Because I have multiple tanks and all the tanks look the same it's gotten hard to keep track of how many prints are done on each one, and which one had which type of resin in it. So I made this labelled FEP Counter which you can glue or tape onto the side of the SL1S Resin Vat, or any Resin Vat with a flat side.

I use many different resins and have multiple resin tanks on my SL1S and I like to keep tanks for specific resins such as Casting resins separate from Tough resins, because cleaning between each resin is a chore, and not a huge issue if the resin are Similar. Mixing can cause huge problems especially if a Tough resin mixes with Casting for example.

For those who don't want to put anything on their tanks, or only use 1 but still want to keep track, this counter also fits perfectly on the lid, double sided tape or glue to the lid and march the peg along after each print to keep track.

Generic FEP is good for around 20-30 prints with care. This counter goes up to 20, just because space constraint.

I have tested using double sided tape and glue on the tanks and the lid, I prefer glue because tape adds thickness which is an issue on the tanks and the overall coverage of glue is much better and even. I used E6000 glue for this, avoid CA glue.

Notes: Because the SL1S vat tilts forward and there is very little clearance, always face the counter to the back of the printer. Not ideal I know.

Use the SL1S black plastic cover to help align it straight for attachment.

The Peg is the exact height that the SL1S requires between the tank and machine back for clearance, if you modify the peg and are using an SL1S, only change the diameters, not the height.

Printing: You can fit up to 5 counter plates comfortable on a Prusa Mini+ print bed, printing time around 5 hours with a 0.4mm nozzle. Use 0.4mm nozzle or smaller for best details on all the lettering and numbers.

I used Prusa Transparent Tough resin with a little bit of dye for the Peg. Print multiple.. they are small and you never know if you'll lose it. Turn off Pad and Supports, print head down in about 20 minutes on the SL1S. Use whatever colour you prefer. Strongly recommend printing in resin, it is too small for a good FDM print.
