The Ferry Sandringham: this vessel was the steam-powered Gosport ferry ‘Sandringham’. Built in 1900 it replaced a previous vessel the ‘Eva Mary’, it served in the Navy during both world wars before becoming a cruise boat around the Solent and Southampton Water. Its present condition is poor with the hull structure having collapsed in sections. The remains are hazardous and will become increasingly so as it continues to degrade. This model was created via a drone survey conducted in 2017 as part of the Maritime Archaeology Trust’s Heritage Lottery funded Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War project.
