I've seen some FG knot tying tools available commercially but haven't seen any STL files out there. Decided today to throw together a quick and dirty holder to see if it makes tying the FG any easier. Not like it's a tough knot to tie, just cumbersome in some situations. This is the first version. Anytime I do something like this I always know there will be some revisions once I try it. This is no exception IF I continue to use one. I’m not sure the rotating arms are necessary but I wanted them in the first version so I would be able to see how far apart I wanted the line attachment points. The thin arms are springy and maintain tension on the braid. I was trying to keep the size down and keep it simple but an extension arm to allow it to be held between the legs might help. A similar one I saw online had that feature. i may do another like that without the rotating arms. Parts needed are the 1/4-20 machine screws and you can use any of the numerous 1" knurled knob STLs available here. A layer of electrical tape on the surfaces that clamp the line helps hold and protect it.
