FGC9 MKII Deepened Weldless Bolt Grinding Jig

thingiverse

This is a modification of the FGC9 MKII Weldless Bolt Grinding Jig. With the weldless bolt option, a 5 mm grove needs to be cut/ground into each round steel bars in order to ensure the fit of a 10 mm x 10 mm square rod. However the grinding jig provided gives a spacing between the top of the bar being held and the bottom guide part of the jig at 3.1mm, leaving 1.9 mm of steel to be filed down by hand on each bar without the jig in place. This new jig increases that spacing to 5mm, allowing for more material to be removed prior to hand filing. The picture above shows the subtle differences between the two (red = old jig, blue = modified jig). I have not had the pleasure of testing this file out personally. If using this print, I would suggest careful grinding using an angle grinder until about 90% of material is removed, then using a hand file to fine tune the slot.
