Chain mail. Printable fabric. Whatever you call it, most of it is thoughtfully designed to advance the horizons of 3D printing cloth, being more space-efficient, stronger, or easier to print, and closing the disparity between thread and filament in our wardrobes. That's where this Fidget Fabric is different. Its sole calling is to be fun and fidgety, and to do it in style. It's something to conspicuously fidget with in public, or to display on your piano or dog toy in hopes that someone will compliment your taste in adornment. I've included files for various dimensions of fidget fabric. The single and 2x2 versions are good for testing whether your printer can print it well. The 4x4 is a good size for fidgeting, and the 2x4 is a good compromise if a 4x4 is too bulky to carry around. If you think you want to actually use this as fabric, I've included the monstrous 8x8. If you are looking for an irregular size or shape, you can make multiple copies of an existing size and put them next to each other in your slicer. The tolerances are loose enough that you can eyeball it, but if you'd like exact numbers the ideal spacing is 13mm from center to center. This Fidget Fabric isn't terribly hard to print. It has bridging but no overhangs, and it has a decent amount of interface with the print bed. That being said, the print settings I recommend are: - Less than 0.3mm layer height - High retraction to prevent stringing - No supports - A raft *only* if you have adhesion problems. Good luck and happy fidgeting!
