Fidget Spinner (12mm Bearing Weights, For Large Hands)

Fidget Spinner (12mm Bearing Weights, For Large Hands)

thingiverse

A Friend of mine recently wanted me to 3D print him a fidget toy. This sounded simple enough, until he gave me the bearings that he wanted to use for weights. These were no ordinary 608 bearings, but 60012 12mm bearings. This caused me to draw up my own model in Autodesk 123D design. THIS IS FOR LARGER HANDS, AND FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT HEAVIER WEIGHTS. I believe in posting very specific instructions on Thingiverse, rather than letting the user fend for themselves and figure out which files are the right ones to print, so, as one could infer, I will always write instructions for all of my published things. Please feel free to ask questions, as I will gladly answer! Post any pictures of you making it as well! Print Settings Printer: M3D Micro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 30% nozzle diameter Infill: 30% Notes: I would recommend printing the actual frame of the spinner with an impact-resistant material, such as ABS (I used black, no-name ABS at 260 degrees Celsius). PLA is somewhat brittle, and may cause the model to shatter if dropped. If you do not have a heated bed for ABS, simply cover the print bed with a PVA based glue stick (I like to use the purple Elmer's brand glue sticks). The Finger Rests are made to be printed with flexible filament for nice and comfortable grips that aren't as taxing on the fingers. I used Sainsmart Red TPU at 220 degrees Celsius. Post-Printing Very little, if any ,cleanup is required. Depending on the printer, stringing may occur. Bearings and finger rests are to be glued in place using fast-drying "Krazy-glue" or something similar. All holes were made to loosely fit the bearings without large amounts of pressure. Required Parts & Files Version 1.0: -Files: -rpmblade.stl -finger_rest.stl -Materials: -ABS (or other impact-resistant Filament) -Flexible Filament of Your Choice -Parts: -x1 608zz 8mm bearing or equivalent (ceramic bearing was used. If metal ones don't spin fast enough, soak in acentone and spray with WD-40) -x3 60012 12mm bearings
