Filament Filter Guide for 2020

I created this filament filter guide for my Folger Tech 2020 Prusa i3. It serves as both a filament guide and a filament filter all in one. To use the filter, place a piece of foam sponge around the filament, then slide it through the side of the guide and into the square pocket. Next, slide on the front cap to keep the filter from getting pushed out of the top, and finally drop the retainer ring over the whole thing to ensure the cap can't fall off. Alternatively, you can slide the filament into place in the guide first, then stuff the filter around it before putting on the cap and ring. Some people swear by adding a few drops of 3-n-1 oil or canola oil to the filter, claiming it helps reduce jams. I designed this guide as a simple solution, but it evolved over time to include additional features. Initially, it was just a filament guide, then I added the filter box, followed by the cap to prevent the filter from getting pushed out during retract moves or when the head shifted back to center. The ring was added after the cap fell off once, and while I could have made the cap tighter, I prioritized ease of assembly. The entire setup is secure, with everything held together without coming apart due to printer or filament movement. You can also see it in action alongside my new spool holder. Print Settings Printer: Folger Tech 2020 Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 30% Notes: I use a 0.2 layer height and 30% infill, but feel free to experiment with different settings if you prefer. To secure it in place on the 2020 bar above the printer, simply use a T-nut. Don't worry about the rough print quality shown in the photos - I've since revised the part to reduce fillet usage, resulting in a much smoother finish.
