Filament Flattener for Fettered Fingers

Filament Flattener for Fettered Fingers

Lately, my hands have been cramping/shaking a bit, so when calibrating e-steps, pinning down a piece of filament that wants to curl with 2-3 fingers of one hand and then only use the other hand to adjust the calipers has been frustrating. So, I designed the Filament Flattener. Now, simply run your open air extrusion of 100mm, cut it, slide it into the channel, and it straightens it and keeps it flat so you can adjust the calipers with ease. NOTE: You MAY need to twist it when it's in the channel so that the concave side of the filament is pointed downward. Otherwise, it may still curve up at the very ends. Still a work in progress, so feedback welcome in the comments!
