The filament scraped against the edge of the inlet to the extruder, forcing it to exert considerable force. I fabricated a filament guide to mitigate this issue and alleviate strain on the extruder. With the guide in place, the filament is now pulled into the extruder at a nearly perpendicular angle. This modification also presented an opportunity to utilize the existing hole in the extruder carriage, which can be secured with a screw and nut for mounting purposes.
