This addition prevents the filament from snapping between the extruder and the spool. The hole measures 6mm in diameter, sloping at a 4-degree angle. So far, it has been working for me. 26.07.2015 A notable point is that I've used up half of my plastic spool without breaking the filament. It's worth noting that as the filament is consumed, the guide will shift closer and closer to the spool. To avoid a break, let it move freely or the filament will snap.
