The filament would sometimes unexpectedly spill over the edge of the spool during printing operations. On longer prints, this would inevitably lead to print failures as the filament would eventually wrap tightly around the arm of the spool holder. The filament guide slides smoothly along the front of Printrbot's aluminum handle and securely holds the filament in the center of the spool as it is pulled off. To ensure a snug fit, the dimensions are carefully tailored to match those of the handle. Initial fitting may require some minor filing or carving to achieve a perfect fit.
