The base clips onto the aluminum arm, and the arm slots into the base, holding it in place. It's based on a design I found on the UP forums, apparently provided by Afinia (same hardware as UP). This fixes many issues with the original. The arm has been lengthened and reinforced to support 1kg Hatchbox spools, and the filament guide has a place for the included plastic tube to clip into.
