Filament Roller Printed Ball Bearing

Filament Roller Printed Ball Bearing

thingiverse

THIS IS ONLY THE ROLLER, the mount is Holspeed's and the nut&bolt are ones I generated using blender I wanted to make the filament roller but didn't have a bearing, and most bearings I found on thingiverse are low tolerance (even the highest tolerance bearings are too wobbly and unstable), so I made my own version with a ball bearing I whipped up in blender. The tolerances on this are very high, the balls are incredibly close to touching in the slicer so be sure your settings are dialed in well. The bearing itself should be able to be mounted on an M4 bolt. If you don't have one, just 3D print one as well as a nut as that's what I did and it works just as well for this low-load application. When printed, the balls will need a light nudge to loosen. Just using your finger will be more than enough So far it's working very well and spins smoothly for a reasonable amount of time, should feed your filament to the extruder nicely
