Filament Sample Swatch (w/ Address Labels and Tolerance Tests)

prusaprinters

This is a Filament Swatch that allows for use with address labels. Swatch includes tolerance tests for bridging (5, 10, 15, 20mm), walls (0.5, 0.8, 1, 1.5, 2mm), transparency (0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2mm), overhangs (15°, 30°, 45°, 60°), and holes (2, 3, 4mm) while having room for an address label (Avery 5160). Also, has holes in back for 8x2mm magnets so you can stick them together or up on a dry erase board.

Print without supports at 0.2mm layer height with 100% infill and make sure detect thin walls is checked.

A lot of the swatches I saw similar to this one were using 0.1mm layer heights despite the fact that you would normally be printing at 0.2mm and 0.1mm is not a multiple of 0.4 (the magic number).

I've also kept the dimensions of the entire swatch at 100mm x 45mm x 3mm which means it will fit into a lot of the current swatch holders out there.

The labels were made in LibreOffice Writer (ODT file) which is inside of the zip file. This isn't a great solution but works. I used a free QR code website to create links to the purchase of that filament. Address labels are much cheaper than going for a full on Dynamo label maker but it does mean doing the labels fairly manual. You could potentially make a template instead with labels and insert all the information into a spreadsheet database to autofill everything but its out of my league and I wasn't sure how I could make it easy to use for everyone here.

Please, let me know if I can make any improvements to the design or even if you want an adjustment like no magnet holes or a backing to the bridges for protection.
