Filament Sensor Mounting Case for CR10/CR10s, and other printers
thingiverse
This is a compact filament sensor mounting case I designed specifically for my CR10S, where the filament spool is mounted on top of the printer and fed down to a direct drive extruder. It will work with any other 3D printer having standard aluminum frames like the CR10S, as well as the same filament sensor board. I created this design because there seem to be no filament sensor mounting cases for the CR10S on Thingiverse that attach to the top if you want to mount your spool on top, especially for a direct drive setup. This filament sensor mount fits tightly into the aluminum frame of the CR10S (and many other 3D printers) using standard M4 nuts and bolts, which are common spare parts for Chinese 3D printers. If mounted on top, it directs the filament downwards with minimal friction. Both parts together use less than 10 grams of material, and take a total of one hour to print at 30 mm/s. The cover slides snugly into the case and holds the filament sensor itself securely inside. There are two cases that can be printed - one with a hole for an M6 nozzle insert used for PTFE tubing, making guiding filament out of the case more streamlined and flexible.
