Filament Shelf

Edit 10/11/2018: Due to the increased popularity this design has gained I plan to overhaul this page with new files, a better description, and assembly instructions. Potentially a parametric file as well for the customizer to specify dowel diameter and mounting screw. Please comment on this design with any additional changes you would like to see. Edit 4/17/17: Added Version D which is able to be printed on printers with a more average build area. The spools don't sit as low on the shelf in this version and there is less clearance between the spools and wall (from 1 in clearance to 1/4 in clearance) to make the design more compact. I've been accumulating more and more rolls of filament so I decided to make a wall mounted shelf to save space and stay organized. I didn't like the standard design where all spools sit on a rod because you have to take off half to get to the middle spool. My design uses two 1 inch diameter wooden dowels to support the filament so you can just grab the spool you need. I even added little tags to go over the dowels to label each group of filament. Please make sure to drill the shelves into studs and not just sheet rock. Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Mk2 Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 30% Notes: I used PETG and a high infill but the design should be sufficiently over-engineered enough to even use PLA but PETG, ABS, or nylon would work best. This is meant to be used with 1 inch diameter wooden dowels.
