Filament Spool

Filament Spool

thingiverse

Hi guys, since my filament didn't come in a spool and I couldn't find a spool that seemed to satisfy my needs, I decided to design my own: The filament holder is a derivative from this one: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16267 (filament_guide_v4) This is my first entry, I hope you like it :) Instructions Just clip in the holder between the two threaded rods, the nuts should be M8 to fit into the holes, screw in another M8 threaded rod (cut to the desired length, mine are about 20cm which the holder can easily hold, not sure about lengthier spools) then assemble the spool itself: you will need the spool 2x, press in the two 608ZZ bearings, cut M6 threaded rods to the desired length (again mine are ~20cm) and tighten the M6 nuts (use washers in between!) on the top of the M8 threaded rod just counterlock 2 nuts so the spool stays in place Then just roll the filament onto the spool! I printed 2 spools which I use for different colors or materials, but having to also simplifies rolling the filament onto the second spool! The holes in the spool are for adjusting the spool diameter and as a starting point for the filament! BOM: Printed: 2x Spool.stl 1x Spoolholder.stl Hardware: 1x M8 threaded rod (~20-30cm) 3x M6 threaded rod (~20-30cm) 12x M6 nuts 12x M6 washers 4x M8 nut a few M8 washers (to space the spool away from obstacles(z-motors)) 2x 608ZZ bearing some PLA or ABS
