Ever had issues with the filament spool not wanting to rotate? Or from time-to-time, hearing a thud, coming from the spool holder? If you have a simple acrillic spool holder like I do, you might as well have encountered similar issues. Problem in many of those cases is that the diameter of the spool holder axis is smaller than that of the standard filament spools. The advantage of that design is that you can use smaller spools for the same spool holder. The disadvantage is that if the filament spool's inner tube is larger the filament axis, the extruder will need extra power to pull the filament, and the extruder teeth will wear out more quickly. I designed my roller to be fit for most of my filament spools, and especially fits for Herz filament spools. The roller diameter is 52mm, the inner (hole) diameter is 17mm. After printing, you can simply pop the top side of the roller into the roller tube. No additional glue is needed to work. I have yet tried only PLA, I cannot say anything about how to print other materials. DISCLAIMER: I am uploading this model in the hope that it will be useful, but without any varranty for the end result, as well as the further usage, and the adventitious damages occuring from it.
