Filamentholder for Artillery Sidewinder X2

Filamentholder for Artillery Sidewinder X2

The original filament holder of the Artillery Sidewinder X2 is a mess! It totters, tubes fall off, spools sometimes fall off the printer and the radial orientation of the spool might ruin Y-precision by some micrometers if weight is not balanced well on the spool. So I've made my own. It is more stable, needs less force to unwind, it is easier to place a spool and easier to fiddle filament into the sensor. Hardware you need for this device: - One of each prints: clamp lever cap tube - 2 bearings of type 6901ZZ, which has 12x24x6mm, that is an inner diameter 12mm, outer diameter 24mm, thickness 6 mm. (You may use the fusion file and adopt it for other bearing sizes, but do not use less than 12mm inner diameter cause this is not strong enough for 1kg spools) - 5 threaded inserts M4x8x6mm - 5 screws M4x10mm, 4 of them preferrably with flat head or at least thin heads - the original filament sensor of the Artillery Sidewinder X2 Holders with a single pin sometimes do not have bearings, but thats no option for me. These pin needs some strength, so bearnings with an inner diameter of at least 12mm are mandatory. Using 12mm, it works well but still a strong material is recommended so it does not break at 1kg spools. Note: To avoid the extruder pulling itself up if spool unwinding takes some force, a PTFE tube is necessary anyway. That is necessary with the original spool holder, too. Why does Artillery never mention this? I added the fusion360 file to enable you making modifications. The fusion file is a bit more improved, so it differs from the stl files a bit, e.g. it uses M3 threads. As I did not test the improved version so far, I'd rather let the tested stl files online. You may export your own stl files from the fusion file or adopt some values like the bearing size of your choice.
