Film Scanning Masks

Film Scanning Masks

####Concept#### This is a collection of film masks for camera scanning. It's based on the concept of a gate, and pressure plate, in a motion film camera, or projector. There are three primary components. A gate where the film sits, and a plate that snaps into the track, holding the film in place. Both stay together using magnets. This pair sits in a frame, which can rest on the light source. The film is in direct contact with both sides, so to advance, either lift the plate, or if you're not too precious about the film (I'm not) just pull the film to the next frame. Optionally, you can add felt on the gate track, and plate. ####ToDo#### - Make feet for the frame so the plexi diffusion doesn't sit on the light source. - Sort out making the frame a bit heavier so it won't move easily ####Components#### **To Print:** - A gate, and plate per film gauge - Frame - Buttons to glue on top of plate magnets **To Purchase:** - 10mm circular magnets - Opaque, white, plexi sheet (Cut to size, and glue on bottom of frame) **Optional:** - Felt to sandwich the film between the gate track, and plate
