Fire Fighting Teal Drone #TealDroneChallenge

After seeing the devastating wildfires in my home state of California, I wanted to try and do something to make a change. Then I saw this design competition an knew I had to make this. This drone top cover, when not the prettiest, packs a lot of functionality. First, it has an MQ-2 Gas sensor for helping firefighters know if an area is safe to breathe in, as the sensor detects Smoke. This sensor also detects flammable gas so it can let a firefighter know if an area is in danger. The second sensor is a high-temperature thermistor, the type used in 3d-printers. This can help detect hot spots and help the drone operator know where a fire is if he or she loses sight of the drone. This top cover also allows for actual firefighting too.You can string a large rubber band between the horn of the servo and the hook on the opposite side of the drone, and then put a fire retardant ball, such as this https://www.amazon.com/Extinguisher-Suppression-Device-Safety-Product/dp/B01JVXFQ6E , under the drone, and held by the rubber band. Now when the servo is turned, the fire retardant ball will drop which will then explode spraying the fire with retardant, extinguishing it. All of these sensors and servos have holes that will allow you to wire them to the drones electronics. Depending on the flight controller used in the teal drone, the sensors could read live to an open-tx compatible controller. The servo could be easily plugged into a receiver. While this drone won't stop a wildfire, it can provide firefighters with a new angle to attack the fire with, and can provide them with tools to ade safety and the ability to extinguish house fires.
