Model Description:

I was looking around for a storage solution for my base copy of the firefly board game, I found lots of options for the complete game, but since I have none of the expansions I figured I would try my hand at designing a solution that was functional during play but all stored the components nicely.

The deck trays are designed in a way to allow for use while playing the game. Use the lid as the discard for all the decks, which keeps everything clean and organized during play!

I have this game sleeved in penny sleeves so the trays might be larger than you need,
feel free to use the included FreeCAD file to modify the size to suit your uses.
The sleeves I have are: 94mm x 68mm.

There is some leftover space in the box to accommodate some extras beyond the base set if you have them.

I would probably change a few things if I was to start designing this from scratch again, but overall I am happy with how it all turned out. A good mix of relatively low filament usage and functionality on the table and in the box!

Please post your makes and comments!

Print Instructions:

I printed these at a layer height of 0.2 mm in PLA.

Print Instructions:

You will need to print one of each piece with the exception of the token tray, and the bottoms of each deck box. I have included a token tray STL with text inlay and without text. Each bottom will need to be printed in duplicate for each lid you need.

How I made this:

I made this in FreeCAD and have included the CAD file if there is anything you would like to modify.

This CAD design got away from me a little bit so the file itself is a little messy but should be modifiable without too much effort!

For the text I needed a font that could be printed in negative space and I settled on a font I really like called Softbox.

The link to this font is: https://www.fontspace.com/softbox-font-f46442
