A new handle guide for an old fish tape was desperately needed since it had lost its original one. This makeshift solution will likely work for most fish tape reels with an outside diameter of 12 inches and a plastic thickness of approximately 3/16". The tapered side can be inserted by carefully prying the sides of the reel apart and inserting the small end of the taper. With some elbow grease (and possibly a screwdriver to keep things from getting stuck) you should be able to get the whole thing in there. Make sure that the wide side of the taper is facing towards the end of the tape.
